Vintage 1930's Frank MacIntosh Print "The Offering, Hawaiian Blessing" taken from an original cruise line menu that once toured Hawaii over 80 years ago. Print comes in an original large period Rattan Frame.
The artist, Frank McIntosh, was commissioned by the Matson Navigation Company to create memorable keepsake menus for their voyages and other marketing materials. In order to generate excitement and allure for Hawai'i as a world class tourist destination, Matson developed an ambitious and enduring advertising campaign. Their famed luxury liners, the “white ships” were instrumental in the development of tourism in Hawai'i in the late 1920s and 1930s.
This highly colorful and romantic series of Hawai'i captures the spirit and romance of the islands during this time period. We have six prints in our Hawaiiana category, each sold separately. These are original vintage menu prints and are not reproductions! Please contact us via our Contact page if you are interested in purchasing the entire set, as it would be wonderful to keep them together.
